Should you self host your email ?

The point there is to avoid as much as possible big tech companies that know when you’ll get your next plane and advise you to leave early because of a traffic jam to the airport.

This is real, just because it is easy and free, we all end up using Gmail as our email, or iCloud email if we are in the Apple ecosystem, but we are giving them just too much information about our lives.

Fortunately, there are ways to have your email secure, withouth the hassle of hosting your own email server.

Even if you don’t have the knowledge to administer a full SMTP server, at least, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE, get an email address with ProtonMail or Tutanota.

And if you are brave enought to really try to host your email server Hyde also tells us about an option.

Now I don’t really do a lot of configurations when I need a mail server to be up and running quickly. Some tweaks here ad there is all I need in the iRedmail solution.

Now is up to you, you have the options, I think I will try to host the server on my own, but I am almost sure I will finally go for the hosted solution, maybe Tutanota.
