I have just bought this beautifull Giant Iguana from 1995, it is full Chromoly.
Introduced during the rise of recreational mountain biking, the Giant Iguana stood out in the mid-90s for offering a surprisingly capable ride in a modest package. Its chromoly frame delivered a supple yet responsive feel, while the Shimano Alivio drivetrain (in 3x7 or 3x8 setups) gave it enough range for both steep climbs and spirited descents. Unlike later suspension-heavy bikes, the Iguana’s rigid fork and cantilever brakes made it light, direct, and easy to service — qualities that riders still appreciate today. Whether left stock or reimagined as a retro commuter, the Iguana remains a solid example of practical MTB design done right.

Mine is equipped with:
- Shimano A 3x8 transmission
- Cantiliver breaks (also Shimano A)
- The saddle is modern but in line with tires color
- Tires are also modern with a retro look
The previous owner (a friend of mine) is a bike collector and tries to keep all his bikes looking as near as possible to the original on the catalog
